GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS VOULTERS TO DRUG UTILIZATION REVIEW BOARD
(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Dr. Lee Voulters, of Vicksburg, to the Drug Utilization Review Board under the Mississippi Division of Medicaid. The board is designed to provide a focused review of drug therapy administered in the state.
“I’m proud that Dr. Voulters has accepted this position,” Governor Barbour said. “He has extensive medical experience and a working knowledge of the various drug therapies utilized in Mississippi. I know he will be an asset to this important board.”
Voulters is a neurologist at River Region Health System in Vicksburg, where he also serves as medical director of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. He also serves as medical director of the Mississippi Chapter of American Parkinson Disease Association Information and Referral Center and works part-time as a clinical assistant professor of neurology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Voulters holds specialist certification by the American Society of Neurorehabilitation; board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; and specialist certification in neurology and a fellowship with the Royal College of Psychiatry and Neurology of Canada FRCP.
His activities include membership with the American and Mississippi State Medical Association; American Academy of Neurology; Movement Disorder Society; National Headache Foundation; New York Academy of Science; Royal Society of Medicine; and the Canadian Neurological Society.
Dr. Voulters studied pharmacy at the University of London’s School of Pharmacy and earned his medical degree from the university’s Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. In addition, he holds a master of business administration from George Mason University.
