GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS COX TO MASSAGE THERAPY BOARD
(Jackson, Mississippi)— Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Lynn Cox, of Madison, to the State Board of Massage Therapy, which regulates the practice of massage therapy in Mississippi.
“Lynn’s experience in massage therapy makes her well-qualified to serve in this capacity. I am confident she will be an asset to the citizens of Mississippi while working as a member of this regulatory board,” Governor Barbour said.
Cox, a Registered Massage Therapist and Mississippi Licensed Instructor, has served as chairman of the State Massage Therapy board since 2001. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and volunteers with the Mississippi State Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
A graduate of Blue Cliff School of Therapeutic Massage, Cox also attended the Colorado School of Healing Arts for Trauma Touch Therapy. She studied under Don Strachan at the Wassage Institute, where she learned the healing art of water massage. Cox and her husband, E. David, have two adult children.
