GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS STEDMAN TO ETHICS COMMISSION
(JACKSON, Mississippi) — Governor Haley Barbour has announced the appointment of Sue Stedman, a native of Crystal Springs, to the Mississippi Ethics Commission, which helps public servants comply with the law and ensures the highest standards of governmental integrity for the people of Mississippi. All elected and appointed officials and employees of state, county, district and municipal government come under the authority of the commission.
“Sue is an upstanding member of her community and a perfect fit for the Ethics Commission,” Governor Barbour said. “I feel confident she will serve the people of Mississippi well.”
Since 1988, Stedman has worked at Crye-Leike Stedman Realtors, where she currently serves as vice president and sales manager. Stedman is a licensed Mississippi Real Estate Salesman; Mississippi Real Estate Broker; and Mississippi Certified Residential Appraiser. She is also licensed as a Real Estate Broker in the State of Louisiana. Stedman is a member of the Natchez and Mississippi Association of REALTORS; Keep Natchez/Adams County Beautiful; and Natchez Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she is a member of the Historic Natchez Foundation and the Natchez/Adams County Humane Society. From 1996 to 2004, Stedman served as an Alderman for Ward 3 in Natchez. She was chosen as Women in Business Advocate of the Year in 1994 and was recognized in 2004 and 2005 as the Natchez REALTOR of the Year.
Stedman is a graduate of Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She and her husband, Joe, currently reside in Natchez.
