GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS LEWIS TO BOARD OF REGISTRATION FOR FORESTERS
(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Charles H. “Buddy” Lewis III, of Gloster, to the Mississippi Board of Registration for Foresters. The board is designed to establish standards of practice and a code of ethics for registered foresters within the state.
“Buddy’s extensive forestry experience makes him well qualified to serve in this capacity. He will be a great asset to the board,” Governor Barbour said.
Lewis, a Registered Forester since 1977, is owner and operator of Lewis Timber Company. Within the company, Lewis oversees the purchasing of standing timber and timberlands and other forest management activities. Lewis is actively involved in his community and is a past member of the Trustmark, Pine Hills Academy, and Gloster Elementary School Foundation boards.
Lewis is a 1969 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Forestry. He and his wife, Diane, have four adult children.
