GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS SESSUMS TO HOME INSPECTION REGULATORY BOARD
(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Charlie Sessums, of Brandon, to the Mississippi Home Inspection Regulatory Board. As an adjunct board to the Real Estate Commission, the MHIB is responsible for matters relating to home inspectors code of ethics and standards, home inspector qualifications, testing standards, and disciplinary functions.
“I am proud that Charlie has accepted this position,” Governor Barbour said. “He has years of commercial and residential service experience that make him well-qualified to fill this role. I feel confident Charlie will be a great asset and will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”
Sessums is founder of Alpha Inspection, a commercial and residential property inspection company, and CR Service, a commercial and residential service company. Previously, he worked as an irrigation system designer and sales representative for Love Irrigation and as a superintendent for DeRanz Building Systems. Sessums, a licensed property inspector, is an active member of the American Society of Home Inspectors. In addition to his certification as a licensed Mississippi Builder, Sessums successfully completed the International Code Council Residential Building Contractor exam in 2005. He has served on the ASHI Legislative committee for two years.
A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Sessums holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and industrial accounting. He continues to participate in career-related educational courses, including the ASHI Inspection World 2004-2006 and various ITA International training courses, such as ITA Expo 2002 and HUD/FHA Inspections.
