GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS TISDALE TO COLLEGE SAVINGS PLANS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(JACKSON, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour has announced the appointment of Wayne Tisdale, of Gulfport, to the board of directors of the College Savings Plans of Mississippi, which oversees the Mississippi Affordable College Savings (MACS) and the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (MPACT) Program. These plans offer unique means to help Mississippi families save for college.
“Wayne is an excellent choice for this position,” Governor Barbour said. “He brings a wealth of talent and years of business experience to the table, and I am confident he will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”
Tisdale has 39 years of business experience and currently works as executive vice president at Stewart Sneed Hewes, a division of BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc. Within his community, Tisdale has been involved in Gulfport’s Chamber of Commerce; Rotary Club; Main Street Association; and Jaycees. In addition, Tisdale holds membership in the Gulfport Yacht Club-East Pier and the Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce. Professionally, Tisdale is a member of the Mississippi Independent Insurance Agents Association; Associated General Contractors of Mississippi; and former member of the Mississippi Press Association.
He is a graduate of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Delta State University. Tisdale and his wife, Jerrye Lynn, have three children, Eric, Tyler, and Janet.
