(Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Dr. Jeff Clark, of Brookhaven, as the state representative to the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission. This federal commission was created to consider and approve any areas of land and water for purchase or rental by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition to approving purchase and rental prices, the Commission considers the establishment of new waterfowl refuges.
“I feel confident that Jeff will serve the people of Mississippi well,” said Governor Barbour. “He has a long history of involvement with the outdoors that makes him very well-qualified for this role.”
Dr. Jeff Clark has been a practicing urologist since 1996. He is a certified Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Diplomate of the American Board of Urology, and member of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Clark has been involved with King’s Daughters Medical Center, serving as Medical Affairs Committee Chairman and member and currently as Staff Privileges. In 2000, Dr. Clark served as the Area Chairman for Ducks Unlimited.
Dr. Clark earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Birmingham Southern College. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine, and then served as a surgery intern, surgery resident, and urology resident at the University Medical Center. Dr. Clark is married and has two children.
