(Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Mike McBunch, of Tupelo, to the Mississippi Board of Barber Examiners. The Board is designed to regulate the barbering profession in Mississippi, with protecting the public from the spread of infections and diseases while receiving acceptable barber services from competent and skilled professionals as their main goal.
“Mike is an excellent choice,” said Governor Barbour. “He has years of barbering experience that make him very well-qualified for this position. I am confident he will serve the people of Mississippi well.”
Mike McBunch is the owner of The Hair Company in Tupelo. McBunch has 23 years of experience as a licensed, practicing barber instructor. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Lions Club, and the Tupelo Luncheon Civitans. Professionally, McBunch is a member of the Mississippi Professional Barbers Association and the National Association of Barber Boards of America.
